How we use personal information
This notice explains what happens to information sent through Stairlifts Near Me, including quotation requests and general contact messages.
Last reviewed: 30 July 2026
1. Who is responsible for the information?
Stairlifts Near Me is owned and operated by Which Stairlift Limited, company number 07065045, registered in England and Wales. Its registered office is Unit 2A Railway Triangle Industrial Estate, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1QN. Which Stairlift Limited is the data controller responsible for deciding how information submitted to this service is used.
Data protection questions and requests can be sent to info@stairliftsnear.me. The correspondence address is Which Stairlift Limited, 17 Maumbury Road, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1QN.
2. Information we collect
Quotation requests
The quotation form asks for a name, email address, telephone number, installation postcode, who the stairlift is for, the staircase type and optional practical notes about the staircase or access.
General contact messages
The contact form asks for a name, email address, optional telephone number, optional request reference, message subject and the message itself.
Context and security information
We record the source page, regional context, campaign parameters supplied in the web address, submission time, consent record and a unique reference. A short-lived session cookie protects the forms. Web-server logs may also record basic technical information such as the IP address, requested page, browser and time for security and fault diagnosis.
Optional website measurement
If analytics cookies are accepted, Google Analytics may receive an online identifier, page path, referring page, general device and browser information, approximate location and website interactions. We use this to understand aggregate website use and whether the service is generating genuine enquiries.
A completed quotation request may generate a
generate_lead measurement event, while a general contact
message is recorded separately. We do not deliberately send Google a
name, email address, telephone number, postcode, message, medical
detail or enquiry reference.
We do not ask for diagnoses, medical records or financial information. Use the optional box only for practical details relevant to the staircase, access or first supplier conversation.
3. How and why we use the information
| Purpose | How it is used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Handle a quotation request | Review the area, staircase and contact details and decide whether a relevant supplier can be approached. | Legitimate interests in operating the requested matching service. |
| Share an appropriate request | Pass the necessary details to a suitable stairlift supplier so it can contact the person about a survey or quotation. | Consent given with the quotation request. |
| Reply to general contact | Review and respond to an existing-request, website or business message. | Legitimate interests in responding to voluntary contact. |
| Keep the service secure | Prevent misuse, investigate failures and retain a limited audit trail. | Legitimate interests in security and accountability. |
| Measure and improve the website | Use optional aggregate analytics to understand visits, journeys and successfully accepted forms. | Consent for optional analytics technologies and the associated processing. |
| Meet legal obligations | Respond where information must be retained or disclosed by law. | Legal obligation. |
We do not use enquiry details for unrelated email marketing, and there is no solely automated decision that decides whether someone can buy a stairlift.
4. Who may receive the information?
Information may be shared only with:
- Stairlifts Near Me and authorised people working for Which Stairlift Limited who need it to handle the request;
- a suitable stairlift supplier when a live quotation request is appropriate for that supplier’s coverage and service;
- service providers supporting secure hosting, email delivery, storage or website protection; and
- CookieYes Limited for cookie preference management and Google for optional Google Analytics measurement, where the visitor has accepted the relevant category; and
- regulators, courts or public authorities where disclosure is required by law.
A supplier receiving a request is responsible for its own advice, survey, quotation and subsequent use of the information. Before any details are sent, we record the supplier’s identity, coverage and data-handling terms.
We do not sell personal information as a marketing list. If a service provider processes information outside the UK, appropriate UK data-transfer safeguards must be confirmed before that provider is used.
Google and CookieYes may process limited technical information in countries outside the UK. Their services are used subject to their contractual data-protection terms and applicable transfer safeguards.
5. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected. We review retained information regularly and securely delete or anonymise it when it is no longer required.
- Quotation requests and general contact messages are normally retained for no more than three years after the last meaningful contact.
- Information needed for a complaint, dispute or legal claim may be kept for longer while the matter is active and for the relevant legal limitation period.
- Information that forms part of a legal, tax or accounting record may be retained for up to seven years after the relevant relationship ends.
- Technical and security logs are normally retained for no more than 12 months, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident or fault.
- Test submissions are deleted when testing is complete and no later than 30 days after collection.
6. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer, or object to how it is used. Where sharing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future use.
Optional cookie consent can be changed at any time through Cookie settings.
Contact info@stairliftsnear.me and include enough information for us to identify the relevant request. We may need to confirm identity before releasing or changing personal information.
